On March 8th, 2025, Wezesha Women Initiative hosted the EmpowerHer Summit in Kikuube District to commemorate International Women’s Day under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”
The event brought together over 300 women and girls from refugee and host communities, featuring motivational speakers, panel discussions, exhibitions of women-led businesses, and a special award ceremony honoring outstanding women leaders. It was a vibrant celebration of resilience, empowerment, and collective action toward gender equality.
